It's a four-patch posie, which is fun to make. Getting the layers of fabric cut right and stacked properly is the biggest challenge, but rearranging the pieces of each block is fun, and it goes together quickly. I made one before with pink flowers in a baby blanket, but this one is bigger for me and the other members of my household.
One other thing that made me really happy about this quilt is using the green hydrangea fabric in the black bordered squares. I had purchased that a few years back with a gift certificate my mom got me from Hancocks of Paducah. I still remember pouring over the pages of the catalog and refining my list of fabric selections over and over...
I really liked the green fabric, but oddly enough, it never actually matched anything. I tried to use it many times, but it wasn't quite right. Clearly, the fabric knew it was waiting for this project. I am very happy with it!
